Reception - Patient Penguins

Welcome to the Patient Penguin Class! We are the Reception Class at Oasis Academy Bankleaze and we are excited to Enjoy, Explore and Encourage this year. The teachers in Reception are Mrs Weare and Mrs Fitz-Gerald supported by Miss Linthorne. We are also joined by Miss Jones who is completing her teaching placement with us this year.

Patient Penguin Homework:

-Reading is at the heart of everything we do in Reception. We ask that your child reads at home as often as possible to ensure they develop into confident readers by the end of Reception. We would recommend reading 5 times per week. Your child will bring home a Phonics book and a levelled reading book. They will also have tricky words to learn and we will assess these regularly. Please remember to write in your child's reading record and to write a short comment. 

- As part of Horizon's, each child in Reception will bring an iPad home with them. At first we will use the iPad's at school to teach the children how to look after them and how to use different programmes. We would recommend using the following Educational Learning Apps.
