Look At Us Learning
Term 4
Year 2 have had a colourful Term 4 already. We have celebrated WBD and shared books with the Year 5s. On March 8th we empowered the women and girls in our academy by singing The Power as part of International Women's Day. On Thursday the 9th, we celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi as we are linked to our Oasis Global Partners in India where the festival is widely celebrated. The playground was a wash of colour after we participated in the traditional powder throwing to welcome the Spring season. As if that wasn't enough for just three weeks, Forest School is up and running for all tree climbing and fire building activities.

Term 3
Year 2 has had a jammed packed term of learning about the Victorian Era. We have compared how out lives are similar and different to those of the children in the Victorian Era. We visited St Fagan's in Wales to experience a lesson inside an old Victorian school room.

Term 2
Year 2 have spent Term 2 learning about our Oasis Global linked country India. We have learnt how the cow is a sacred animal in India and tasted traditional Indian cuisine. The children then made art inspired by the throwing of paint at the Hindu festival of Holi.

Term 1 summary
Year 2 had a brilliant first term to start the year. They have been filling marble jars and joining in with all the school events. We even commemorated the death of Queen Elizabeth II by planting a small garden in her memory.

Year 2 had a fabulous first day at school! We explored the things we could build using Lego and made our own buckets that we will fill throughout this term. Have you filled a bucket today?
