Children in Nursery and Reception have a play-based curriculum.

Play for children, is not just recreation – it’s their whole approach to life and their absolute right. It is essential for their well-being growth and development and is the way in which they learn.

Play and learning opportunities are carefully considered for each child and based on the guidance from the EYFS.  Please click on the link below for the EYFS Parents Guide.

During their time in Nursery children are supported to lay down the firm foundations for lifelong learning – resilience, perseverance, cooperation, collaboration, paying attention, clear speech etc. Hand in hand with these important behaviours or attitudes for learning more specific skills and knowledge are taught through the interests of the children. Partnership with you, the parents and carers, is essential in order for children to meet their full potential.

Our Learning Spaces

Here at Bank Leaze it is crucial that our children feel safe and secure and receive the best possible start to their experience to schooling, we have many transition processes including Home Visits, Stay and Play sessions and Parent and Teacher meetings.

Here at Bank Leaze we monitor the children's progress throughout their time to prepare them for Reception class, we use an online journal called "Tapestry" where our staff share children's learning with you.
