Welcome to the class page for Compassionate Cheetahs! Our class teachers are Miss Pope and Miss Parsons and we are supported by our class teaching assistants Mrs Trenear and Miss Williams. Our Phase Leader is Mrs Nelson.
We have a really exciting year ahead and are looking forward to enjoying our time together in school, exploring our new topics and encouraging you to achieve your best in all that you do during your time at Oasis Academy Bank Leaze!
Each term there will be a class newsletter uploaded to this section.
This will tell you all about what we are learning about, when our PE days are and what books we will be reading. It also contains key class dates for the term.
In Term 1, we have been practicing our drawing and pastel skills. Take a look at some of the animal eyes we recreated. I wonder if you can work out what they are?
Class Assembly
We were so excited to share all about camp with the rest of the school and with our parents. We hope it made the rest of the school excited to go when they're in Year 6!
Year 6 had an exciting start to Year 6 with a visit to Barton Hall in Devon during week 2. The children had a fantastic time and learnt lots of new skills including: canoeing, buggy building, rock climbing, archery, the trapeze and giant swing.
Everyone was so well behaved and it was a pleasure to take the children away!
Daily reading of 15 minutesChildren should be reading at home every day for 15 minutes. This can be independently or aloud to an adult. Children also have access to Reading Plus which helps to improve their reading speed and stamina. Children should record this in their reading dairy daily and bring to school to be checked.
Times table practice on times tables rock starsChildren should be going onto TT Rockstars at home daily for 10 minutes. This will support them with their fluency and speed on times tables knowledge up to 12 x 12.
SumdogWork on sumdog is set weekly by Miss Parsons. This work is personalised to each child and enables the children to focus on very specific learning to support their academic progress.
